Bergstrom Nutrition Introduces First GRAS-Designated MSM
Vancouver, Washington—June 24, 2008—Bergstrom Nutrition, the leading U.S. manufacturer of OptiMSM®, announced today the availability of the first and only GRAS-designated MSM product. ActivMSM™, a proprietary form of MSM (methylsulfonylmethane), has been granted GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) designation for food and beverage formulations.
ActivMSM is manufactured in the U.S. by Bergstrom Nutrition in a dedicated GMP facility, with every lot undergoing rigorous third party testing to ensure the highest level of purity and consistency. As a functional ingredient, ActivMSM is odorless, dissolves rapidly in liquids, does not affect color or clarity of beverages, and is stable at high temperatures.
Marketing of the new food grade MSM will be handled exclusively by TandemRain Innovations. TandemRain will work with companies interested in this proprietary new offering, helping them to develop ActivMSM into exclusive formulations for functional foods and beverages.
